WELCOME HOME 253rd!
The 253rd arrived by bus at the Seaville Rest Area from Fort Dix.
The troops had a short break before continuing the last leg of their trip home.
On to the waiting fire trucks...
....from virtually every fire department in Cape May County.
The crowd at the Armory was more than ready.
There were many happy reunions.
Many at the armory and along the Parkway held welcome signs.
A giant American Flag was held aloft by Tower 460 and Tower 351.
The troops lined a platform between the flag and the cheering crowd.
After a brief ceremony, the word they waited to hear from 1st Sgt. Mike Vey: "Dismissed."
